Legacy 1 is Legacy & Worth Wine's premium sparkling wine. The bottlings are produced using the metodo classico or 'Méthode Champenoise.' This elegant sparkling wine is produced by a family-owned winery surrounded by the Moraine Hills of Castenedolo, located in the Lombardia Region of Italy, just a short drive from Lake Garda.

Historically, the area was chosen by noble families of the city for their summer residences. Many of these ancient palaces and villas still have well-preserved wine cellars today decorated in white marble and large oak barrels. And cellar that produces L&W's Legacy 1 is in the seventeenth-century Togni Palace, owned by the Peri Family since 1946. The oldest part of the palace dates to the early 16th century. The most characteristic feature is undoubtedly represented by the original entrance of the underground cellar: an imposing Botticino marble staircase that descended directly from the main entrance in the heart of the cellar.

The winery's ethos is closely connected with a passion for preserving and protecting this ancient territory steeped in viniculture by engaging in the whole winemaking process from vine to bottle and profoundly understanding the subtle impacts agronomy practices have on the quality of the wine.

The vineyards play an essential part in the landscape of Lago di Garda (Lake Garda). The unique terroir has resulted from four glaciations that established the lake, the undulated moraine hills, and the surrounding clay-like plains. The water of Lago di Garda and the gentle wind that blows in this pre-alpine area generate the Mediterranean-like microclimate at the most Northern latitude in the world.

Applying traditional method techniques, yeast and sugar are added to still wine bottled with a crown cap. The yeast then ferments the sugar into alcohol, creating bubbles that contain naturally occurring carbon dioxide. The wine then rests on the spent yeast, known as lees, for 36 months, which imparts sensations of bread crust or brioche before the yeast is removed through a process known as disgorgement. In contrast to sparkling wines produced through the Charmat method, like Prosecco, where bubbles are formed in pressurized steel tanks, the Legacy 1 bottle-fermented sparkler boasts greater depth, complexity, and longevity.
